If you enable optional optimisation or grid-services functionality, we may process additional data needed to operate those services, including dispatch logs, event participation records, reserve settings, eligibility records, rewards/payment records and device capability information.

We collect personal data: directly from you when you contact us, request a quote, complete forms, purchase services, create an account or use the app; automatically when you use our website or app through cookies, analytics or similar technologies; from your equipment, installer records or connected systems; and from third parties such as finance providers, meter/data service providers, hardware/cloud integration partners, referral partners, installers or service providers where relevant.

6. Optimisation, VPP and connected energy services

If you enable optional optimisation, export, flexibility or grid-services features through the Battery 1st app, we may use relevant device, meter, usage and system data to operate those services.

This may include sharing necessary information with specialist service providers and infrastructure partners that help us deliver these features, including VPP and optimisation functionality, account support, settlement support, data processing, device integrations and payments administration.

These services may involve automated actions such as recommending or applying timing strategies, storing electricity, charging, discharging, reserving capacity, or supporting participation in available programmes, subject to your settings, service availability, hardware capability, communications, metering, export permissions and applicable terms.

Where a feature could involve automated decision-making or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects, we will provide additional information at the relevant point of activation or in the specific service terms.

7. Who we share personal data with

We may share personal data with: our employees, contractors and group/affiliate entities where necessary; installers, engineers and maintenance providers; software, hosting and cloud-service providers; customer support, CRM and communications providers; payment processors and finance-related providers where relevant; device manufacturers, telemetry and integration providers; metering, data and tariff-related service providers; specialist optimisation and grid-services infrastructure partners; professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and insurers; and regulators, courts, ombudsmen, law-enforcement agencies or public authorities where required.
